Roy Rederick, "Sgt. Red," served with G Company, 75th Airborne Rangers in Vietnam. He had 523 jumps in a career that spanned 22 years. He was part of the famed LRRP teams. Red was photographed in Gossip of N.E., a private bar where a lot of veterans hang out.

    Well lit portrait that conveys a striking, somewhat somber and dark mood. The details really stick out against the dark.

    A bit of a surprise with composition. Kudos for photographer for seeing this. Still lacks a punch, though.
