A new interstate will tear through hundreds of acres of wetlands, including those along the scenic Little Pee Dee River. The area, home to an array of plants, animals and natural resources, is one of the state's most scenic, but is in the path of a road the tourism leaders and politcians say is desperately needed to boost the state's economy.

Savannah Brown, 5, joyfully sings a song before bedtime next to a set of rollaway beds at Parkwood Baptist Church in Anderson.  Savannah clutches to a toy and a lamp in the twilight of day, where her homeless family stays for the night as part of a Family Promise program.  The family stays the night, but at 7 a.m., her father goes back to work and her mother tries to find a place to stay.  Health issues are a constant concern to the Brown family, as each family member has counted on Medicaid for different needs.
