02GALMH01:
Theresa Hartley hugs her son Josh Hartley during a memorial service for her daughter Amanda Peake and her children, Cameron, 9, and Sarah, 6 at South Lexington Baptist Church Friday. The three were killed Tuesday night in a triple murder and suicide at their home in Red Bank.

Citadel cadets dressed in period uniforms fire a cannon as they reenact the Jan. 9, 1861 firing on the Union supply ship the Star of the West in commemoration of its 150th anniversary Saturday.  Between 15 and 20 cadets, members of the Citadel Military Living History Society, took part in the reenactment on Morris Island.  02OHLTG01:
Kenny Nguyen, an eighth grade student from Greenwood Christian School sits in the 49 chairs as the last one left in the Independent Mail Regional Spelling Bee.  Kenny won the spelling bee in 21 rounds and will be able to compete in Washington D.C. in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

 02QUACK01:
Volunteer veterinarian Dr. Kathryn Anderson, left and Animal Care Coordinator Brittney Kimbro, right administer a health exam on "Tucky" a mixed breed dog leaving Darlington  for All Four Paws, a rescue group in Chester Springs Pennsylvania. In an effort to find homes for as many animals as possible, Darlington County Humane Society has developed partnerships with rescue groups in the North East. Last year DCHS transported 1,300 animals to rescue groups, where the numbers of unwanted pets is much lower, creating a high demand for animals that could have been be euthanized if homes had not been found.

Miracle Davis, left, and Carisma Murray dance as their class mates drum as 5th graders at North Vista Elementary School spent the week learning traditional West African drums and dance as part of the school's Arts in Education grants. The group Borenya spent the week at the school teaching the 5th grade classes a variety of drumming and dance songs native to West Africa. This year the school is "Sailing Around the World in 180 Days" a program teaching children about the world, February is "Africa" month and the children have been learning about the culture of the continent.
  02QUACK03:
8th graders from South Side Middle school dance in the library as they learn  the Shag as part of their current course work studying South Carolina History as part of the school's Arts in Education grants. The shag, a dance which began in the 1930's, is the state dance, the program offered many students their first chance to learn the dance. The program, led by Caroline Hoadley, a SC state-certified Dance Educator who provides arts residencies across the south, lasted all week.

Motorist drive down I-85 near exit 40 Monday afternoon after the Upstate received several inches of snow. Monday's near record snowfall made road conditions hazardous.

The Love Kitchen is a mobile kitchen that travels across the United States and Canada to make food for homeless shelters and disaster victims.

02ASDFG01:
Lori Cromer, right, stops traffic to allow Amber Thompson to paint a message in memory of Taylor Burrage on Salem Church Road as Kayce Cromer stands nearby Monday. Burrage died after being struck by a car Sunday. Kayce Cromer was also injured in the incident and was visiting the scene for the first time since the accident occured.
